General Pricing

BASIC SERVICES OF FUNERAL DIRECTOR AND STAFF

  • Includes staff necessary for removal of body to funeral home; securing and recording necessary legal forms and permits; consultation with the family; assistance as needed with Veterans Administration and insurance; professional, clerical, and administrative staffing and facilities necessary to provide a professional level of service. This fee for our basic services and overhead will be added to the total cost of the funeral arrangements you select. (This fee, or a portion of it, is already included in our charges for direct cremations, immediate burials, forwarding or receiving remains, and facility usage). - $1,950.00

EMBALMING

  • Except in certain special cases, embalming is not required by law. Embalming may be necessary, however, if you select certain funeral arrangements, such as a funeral with viewing. If you do not want embalming, you usually have the right to choose an arrangement that does not require you to pay for it, such as direct cremation or immediate burial - $675.00

VISITATION VIEWING AND OTHER CARE/SERVICES

  • Other preparation of the body (includes dressing, cosmetology [when embalmed], and casketing of the body) - $280.00
  • Use of facilities and staff for viewing in viewing room (per viewing period) - $275.00
  • Bathing & dressing only (does not include cosmetology and other professional preparation of the body) - $200.00
  • Family viewing of an unembalmed body (includes limited preparation) - $175.00
  • Refrigeration and special care of an unembalmed body (includes 5 days - $25.00 per day thereafter) - $350.00
  • Autopsy restoration &/or special care for organ donations when embalming is authorized for viewing - $250.00
  • Crematory Charge - $245.00
  • Alkaline Hydrolysis - in addition to cremation package charge (plus transportation) - $3,500.00
  • Natural Organic Reduction - in addition to cremation package charge (plus transportation) - $3,675.00

FUNERAL SERVICES

Generally regarded as Monday - Friday between 9a- and concluded at graveside by 4p (excluding holidays)

  • Use of facilities and staff for a funeral ceremony in our Chapel or your Church - $775.00
  • Use of facilities and staff for a memorial service or family-hosted memorial reception in our Chapel - $775.00
  • Use of staff and equipment for a memorial service at a Church - $775.00
  • Staff for graveside service - $775.00
  • Evening rosary, vigil or prayer service, in conjunction with a daytime service, add to the above - $775.00
  • Saturday service additional charge, add to the above (starts at) - $675.00
  • Sunday service additional charge, add to the above - $1,000.00
  • Holiday service additional charge, add to the above - $1,200.00

AUTOMOTIVE EQUIPMENT

  • Transfer of remains to funeral home • use of service car and equipment to transfer the body to the funeral home from the place of death within a radius of 20 miles (the charge for additional mileage is $3.00 per mile one way; Seattle removal is $110.00 additional) - $750.00
  • Hearse or other suitable vehicle to transport body to/from church, chapel, grave, airport or railroad station within a radius of 20 miles (the charge for additional mileage is $3.00 per mile one way; Seattle delivery is $110.00 additional) - $250.00

DIRECT CREMATION

  • Approx. 3 to 5 working days before cremation can take place. Includes a portion of our basic service charge; transfer of remains to the funeral home, securing and recording necessary legal forms and permits; professional care of unembalmed body; transfer of body to crematory; cremation (These charges do not include any visitation/viewing, bathing/dressing, cosmetizing, church, chapel, memorial or graveside funeral service) If you want to arrange a direct cremation, you can use an alternative container. Alternative containers encase the body and can be made of materials like fiberboard or composition materials (with or without an outside covering). The containers we provide are a cardboard-sided box with a plywood bottom, or any combustible casket/container of your choice. New Tacoma's crematory requires use of a suitable rigid container. - $1,425.00 to $6,570.00
  • Direct cremation with casket or container and urn provided by customer - $1,4250.00
  • Direct cremation with cardboard-sided box, plus tax - $1,425.00
  • Direct cremation with selected casket or alternative container and urn (Add cost of casket/container [$140.00 - $3,995.00], plus cost of urn [$40.00 - $1,700.00], plus tax) - $1,425.00

IMMEDIATE BURIALS

  • Includes a portion of our basic service charge, transfer of remains to funeral home, securing and recording necessary legal forms and permits; professional care of an unembalmed body; transfer of body to grave at New Tacoma's & Cemetery's convenience. (These charges do not include any visitation/viewing, dressing, cosmetizing, church, chapel, memorial or graveside funeral service) - $3,000.00 to $6,490.00
  • Immediate burial with casket or other container provided by the purchaser - $3,000.00
  • Immediate burial with minimum casket, plus tax - $4,345.00
  • Immediate burial with selected casket or alternative container (Add cost of casket/container [$1,345.00 - $6,995.00], plus tax) - $3,000.00

FORWARDING OF REMAINS TO ANOTHER FUNERAL HOME BY COMMON CARRIER - NO SERVICES HELD THROUGH NEW TACOMA

  • This charge includes a portion of our basic service charge; transfer of remains to funeral home; embalming, transportation to SeaTac Airport/Seattle Amtrak Station (These charges do not include other preparation of the body, visitation/viewing, church, chapel or memorial service, selected casket or shipping container) - $2,650.00

RECEIVING REMAINS FROM ANOTHER FUNERAL HOME BY COMMON CARRIER

  • Pick up at SeaTac Airport/Seattle Amtrak Station and delivery directly to a local cemetery. (These charges include a portion of our basic service charge, transfer of remains to the funeral home and to the cemetery, but do not include any casket, dressing, hairstylist, cosmetizing, visitation/viewing, chapel, church, or graveside funeral service) - $1,795.00
  • Pick up at SeaTac Airport/Seattle Amtrak Station followed by visitation/viewing, no services or scheduled burial/entombment (these charges do not include casket, dressing, hair stylist or cosmetizing) - $2,070.00
  • Pick up at SeaTac Airport/Seattle Amtrak Station followed by (these charges do not include casket, dressing, hair stylist cosmetizing or viewing room): Chapel or Church services - $2,925.00. Graveside Service - $2,745.00

FACILITY USAGE

  • Cremation &/or burial services provided by another funeral home; New Tacoma staff arranging and conducting memorial services only, includes a portion of our basic service charge and chapel or graveside charge: With chapel or church service (with or without um present) - $3,400.00. With graveside service (with or without um present) - $1,115.00

RECEPTIONS

  • Please refer to our Reception price list for available catered and non-catered options including beverage, food and wine selections.

MAILING OF URNS

  • Packaging and mailing of urns by USPS Express Mail delivery to Continental US address. NO PO Box shipments allowed. Shipment outside of Continental U.S. will be by individual quote. *Charges based on weight and dimensions of urn to be shipped. - Starts at $225.00

CASH ADVANCES

The cost of these items will be added to your final bill. Estimated costs will be adjusted as soon as we know the exact costs. Prices are subject to change.

  • Certified Copies of the original Washington State Death Certificate
    Each copy issued by a WA State Health Department (other slates' fees may vary) -     $25.00
  • Newspaper Notice (Generally newspaper charges will be billed directly to the family by the paper, the costs are usually determined by length and number of notices).
  • Clergy (We suggest) - $300.00 and up
  • Vocalist (We suggest) - $250.00 and up
  • Organist (We suggest for church or chapel organist) - $250.00 and up
  • Motorcycle Escorts (Lengthy services will incur additional standby charges of $50.00 per motorcycle per hour) Escort service reserves the right to add additional escort bikes when size of procession warrants (applicable charges will be added): 3 Minimum (Tahoma National Cemetery processions incur additional charges) - Varies. 3 or more, each when pre-ordered - Varies
