William Ray Lewis, 86, was born December 20, 1936 in Yelm, WA and passed away at his home in Lakewood, WA on January 16, 2023 after a courageous four year battle with cancer.

He retired at the age of 58 in May of 1995 after 30 years with the Port of Tacoma as a Railcar Coordinator. He is survived by his three sons: Kirby Lewis, Kurt Lewis, and Kevin Lewis (Clary). He treasured his beautiful grandchildren: Hannah Ellyson (Landen), Joshua Lewis (Kristin), Eva Lewis, and Sarah Lewis. He was blessed with three great grandchildren: Charlotte Grace Ellyson, Aubrey Rose Ellyson, and Maverick Ellyson.

Preceded in death by loving wife of 37 years, Dorothy Mae Lewis, and devoted partner of 24 years, JoAnn Davis. Bill as he was known to all, and chicken Lewis to many, was loved by everyone for his kind, loving, and compassionate demeanor. He was an extremely dedicated worker, devoted father and husband. He will forever be remembered as the man who always had a joke!
