Virginia "Ginger"
Rosemary Kleindl
Feb 20, 1937 — Mar 8, 2024
Tacoma
Virginia "Ginger" Rosemary Kleindl, 87, passed away peacefully on March 8, 2024.
Ginger was born in Raymond, WA on February 20, 1937, to Deward & Laura Hutchison. She was the middle child of five daughters. She was a bright but shy child that overcame it to go off to college at Western Washington University. After college she accepted a teaching position and moved to Tacoma with her lifelong friend, Alice. It was there that she met her future husband, Elton, at the popular Spanish Castle Dance Hall. They were married at St. Leo's Catholic Church on September 2, 1961. They were blessed with four children and six grandchildren. Ginger was an Elementary School Teacher in Tacoma for over 35 years; teaching first grade at McKinley Elementary most of those years.
Family meant everything to her. Whether it was camping, family picnics, clam digging at the beach or large family gatherings in Raymond. She always had a way of making these activities special and fun for her kids. She was fortunate to have her children close by to enjoy holidays and family milestones. Those times held a special place in her heart.
Besides the love for her family, she was a devout Catholic. She enjoyed reading, fishing, traveling with family and friends, and following her favorite sports teams; especially the Seahawks, Mariners, Huskies and her hometown Willapa Valley Vikings. She participated in many fantasy sports leagues until her passing with several championships in her baseball league. In her retirement years, she loved meeting up with the "Curves" crew to primarily socialize, playing cards with the ladies and the chance of winning a big jackpot at the casino with her sisters and close friends.
Ginger is survived by her husband of 62 years, Elton; children, Teresa (Kendall), Kim, Linda (Robert) and Elton Jr (Heather); grandchildren, Ryan (Aryka), Evan (Alexandra), Hunter, Katie, Audrey and Cameron; sister-in-law, Audrey Broadwell (George), brother-in-law, John Hudziak, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her four sisters; Betty Arnold, Katie Hutchison, Margie Hudziak and Dolores Gullone.
Memorial contributions may be made in her honor to the American Heart Association or St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital.
