Virginia "Ginger" Jean Bowers

Ginger passed away peacefully on October 8th at Heart of Joy Adult Family home in Lacey.

Her husband thanks the wonderful staff there for the fantastic care that was provided.

Ginger was born in Austin Texas on April 11, 1948.  Several years later she moved with her mother Rita Eklund to Tacoma.  She graduated from Wilson High School (class of 66).  She Married Melvin Chipman and had 2 daughters, Dawn and Christine.  She spent time  as a stay at home mom with several part time jobs.  After 14 years of marriage, she and Melvin Divorced.

In December 1981 she married Bill Bowers and became the step mother to his sons James and William (Chuck) Jr.

After her marriage to Bill, Ginger had several jobs including babysitting, Kent Floral and Budget Bookkeeping and Alaska Airlines.

She is survived by her her husband Bill Bowers and children Dawn, Christine, James and William (Chuck) Jr. and her grandchildren Katelynn, Cameron, Bradley, William (Chuck) III, Emma, Brittany, Jase, Tyler and Travis.

She was a member of this Sacred Heart parish since 1998 and was active in the Choir for approximately 20 years
