Theodore W. Harris
January 14 1927 — April 30 2026

University Place, WA.—Theodore W. (Ted) Harris passed away peacefully on April 30 2026 at
Agility Health & Rehabilitation in University Place, WA.

Ted was born in Duluth, Minnesota on January 14 1927. When he was a young boy, his parents
Theodore F. Harris and Thorell Harris decided to move the family (Ted and younger brother
Jack) to Spanaway, WA. He and Jack spent most summer days swimming & fishing in
Spanaway Lake. Ted graduated from Kapowsin High School. He joined the Navy in January
1945. After returning home, he worked and played baseball for various town teams and in the
city league.

In 1949, Ted married his loving wife of over 50 years, Jean E. Stevenson and they had two
sons. Ted worked in the beer business as a driver and in sales for 40 years. From the age of 21,
Ted was an avid golfer. He played regularly until he was 96 and shot his age many, many times.
Ted was preceded in death by his father Theodore F. Harris, mother Thorell Harris and his
brother John W. (Jack) Harris. In 2001, his wife Jean Harris was taken from he and his family
after a year long illness.

Ted is survived by his sons Richard W. Harris (Erika), Mark W. Harris (Larke), four grandchildren,
and seven great grandchildren.
