Suzanne Maloney Payne, December 11, 1935 – December 23, 2025

Born December 11, 1935 in Dayton, Ohio. Degrees obtained from the University of Dayton (Ohio), California State University East Bay, and Central Washington University. As a UD student, she was a member of the Flyerette squad. Sue taught school for 31 years in Ohio, California, Tacoma Community College, and retired from the Bethel School District. She was honored with the Vocational and Guidance Counseling Award for outstanding service and a Golden Acorn for her PTSA leadership activities.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard L. Payne, and her brother, Michael Maloney.

She is survived by her daughter, Liann Payne Arnold (Phil) of Eatonville, and by her son, Michael, of Mammoth Lakes, CA.

She is also survived by her sister, Carole Price (Jack) of New Cumberland, PA, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A member of Westgate Hospital Guild and involved with Festival of Trees for many years as a volunteer and tree designer, and a volunteer at the Broadway Center for the Performing Arts as an usher.
