Obituary

Setsuko, fondly known as "Tamaki-san" went to be with her Savior on January 8, 2024.

Born in Okinawa, she moved to Tacoma in 1973 and opened Tamaki Restaurant in 1981 in Lakewood where customers and friends enjoyed karaoke and good food. She married one loyal customer, Sam, in Las Vegas in 1995. They had a marriage. full of love and laughter until his sudden death in 2002. Active in her church, she hosted ladies' bible studies. at home and designed floral arrangements for Sunday services. As a member of the Okinawa Kenjin-kai, she sang, danced, and performed at their functions. She enjoyed traveling, cake decorating, cooking, sewing, crocheting, Ikebana, gardening, and raising award-winning orchids. Faith, family, and friends were at the core of Tamaki-san's life as evidenced by her relationships.

Setsuko is preceded in death by her beloved husband Sam and son-in-law Tony, she is survived by her sister Mitsuko, daughters Tomi and Tammy (John), grandchildren Michele (Mark), Jennifer (Andrew), and Ryan (Danielle), and great-grandchildren Luke, Monroe, Maysen and Piper-Marie.
