Sandra Sue Young (Wambem), of Lakewood, WA passed away peacefully in her sleep, on December 11th, 2022 at the age of 64. She was born on July 30th, 1958 in Arlington, VA to Ronald Lee Hilderbrand and Catarina Marcia Romero. She was their only child.  She is survived by her life partner Jeffrey Todd and her Parents Richard W. Jensen & Marcia Catherine Jensen (Romero), along with her two children David Lee Allen Jr. and Courtney Kelly Robinson (Young). Sandra was a strong and courageous woman who found a role she cherished of being a voice and confidant to many around her as she always relished a phone call or a get-together with close family and friends.  Sandra had fond memories of her childhood, especially the ones that involved being with her Grandparents Luis and Rafaelita Romero, along with her cousins who lived in various parts of Utah and Colorado. Sandra loved sports all throughout her life, participating as young athlete at Pioneer Middle School and Lakes High School and as a fan who rooted for Reggie Jackson as a teenager, along with the Dallas Cowboys, Seattle Seahawks and Seattle Mariners. Sandra really loved the Pacific Northwest as she would take advantage of catching fresh squid from the Steilacoom ferry dock or filling buckets of fresh clams and oysters from her parent's waterfront property on Raft Island, WA. Sandra was also an accomplished cook who always knew the perfect ingredients for any type of dish, whether it was at home or at any of the establishments she worked at, her culinary abilities were well received by everyone.  Sandra will forever be loved and her smile will always be adored, we love you Sandra.

Services for Sandra will be held on Thursday, January 5, 2023 at 10:00am in the Chambers Creek Chapel at New Tacoma Cemetery.  An 11:30am graveside service and 12:30pm reception will follow.
