It is with great sadness that we mournfully announce the passing of Rory Tierre Moore on August 24, 2022, at the age of 67. Rory, a devoted and beloved husband, son, father, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family after a courageous but brief battle with cancer.

Rory was born on September 28, 1954, in Tacoma, Washington. He was the firstborn to Alice Rose Moore and James Dean Moore. Rory was a loving husband to Valda Moore, to whom he was married for 31 years. Rory began his career in transportation at Pierce Transit in 1991. He enjoyed working as a shuttle driver and building relationships with his clients providing safe transportation to their appointments and other activities. He retired in 2021.

Rory was highly committed to his family. He was a loyal friend with immense integrity and honesty. Nothing was more important to Rory than his family, and he did whatever he could to take care of every one of us. He loved to cook and provide family and friends with meals. Rory loved to build things, had a passion for electronics, and could fix just about everything. He had a passion for music and enjoyed listening to all types of jazz. He enjoyed helping his family and neighbors and could readily be found edging a neighbor's yard, power washing a driveway, and was always available to help with any household dilemma.

Rory is survived by his wife, Valda Moore; mother, Alice Moore; father, Jim Moore; sisters, Alison Moore-Borders and Cindy Lou (preceded in death); brothers Jamie (Carrie), Marcus, and David (Gretchen); son, Diamond (Malinda) Williams, as well as countless nieces and nephews, uncles, aunts, cousins, friends and neighbors.

A celebration of life for Rory will be held in the near future, date undetermined at this time.
