Robert "Bob" L. Dippert
12/7/1929 – 8/23/2024
It is with great sadness we share the passing of our beloved father on August 23, 2024, at the age of 94. He passed peacefully following an extended period of age-related decline after a fall. Born in Des Moines, Iowa, Bob graduated from high school and then entered the Army for two years, meeting his first wife. Never forgetting his Iowa roots, they eventually moved to Tacoma, Washington for better weather and to be nearer his father. Over the years he spent his time working various sales positions before finally joining the team at Tacoma Screw Products, where he met and eventually married his "girl," Linda. Married 40 years, he was heartbroken when Linda passed away in 2016. He loved Mariner's baseball, music, and road trips! He explored much of America from behind the wheel of his beloved cars. Bob was a member of University Place Presbyterian Church, although his health has kept him from attendance in recent years.
He will be missed by all who knew and loved him and especially by his family. He leaves behind his youngest daughter Debra and her children: Owen, Tara, Evan, and Jackson, and her 8 grandchildren. His eldest daughter Donna, husband Mark, and their children Daniel and Jennifer.
The family would like to say thank you for the care and support he received at Merrill Gardens over the past 10 years and especially to the staff at the 97th Avenue Adult Family Home that provided such loving care for him during his final weeks.
A small grave-side service is planned. For more information contact New Tacoma Cemetery.
Godspeed Dad, may angels sing you home!
