Robert Charles Bonds

Robert was 72 years old when he passed away on February 7th, 2025, at his home in Tacoma, Washington. He was born on December 31st, 1952, in North Carolina to Oscar Bonds Sr and Christine (McNeill) Bonds. He grew up with 8 siblings. In 1972, he married Ann Barnard in his mother's house on 1623 S Grant in Tacoma, Washington.

Robert had a very diverse employment history. He worked at a grocery store, at McDonalds, Nally's, on a fishing vessel in Alaska, and most recently, at The Mission in Tacoma.

Robert always wore a smile on his face. He always had a funny story to tell and loved to make time to tell them. He loved history and would educate himself on it any way he could. Robert loved to dance and sing.

He was preceded in death by his parents Oscar and Christine Bonds, and his older brother Oscar Bonds Jr. Robert is survived by his children Byran, Terrance, Lisa, Dameion, Robert Jr. (Pee-Wee), Taya, Danny, Tasha, Janae, Elise, and Jaydin; his siblings Betty, Diane, Brenda, Debbie, Gregory, and MayAnn; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren; and more friends than can be counted.

The Bonds family would like to thank all the support and calls from family and friends during this difficult time of Robert's tragic passing.

There will be a Celebration of Robert's Life on Friday, March 7th, beginning at 10am at Chambers Creek Chapel (9221 Chambers Creek Rd W, University Place WA 98467), followed by a release of doves. A repass will take place immediately after.
