Rickey Allen "Rick" Parkos entered  into the gates of Heaven on the morning of May 26, 2025. Rick was born on October 01, 1952 to Martin James and Evelyn Mae Parkos.  He lived in Tacoma all of his life and attended Horace Mann Elementary School, Stewart Jr. High, and Lincoln High School.

Rick met his bride, Marilyn Jayne Yost  while playing football with friends and saw Marilyn ride by on her bike.  He was soon introduced to her and began their journey together. Rick and Marilyn were married on March 24th, 1973 for 52 years.

Family was very important to Rick. He was very proud of his two boys and his six grandchildren.  Special times were holidays and family birthday parties where he could be with his entire family. Rick enjoyed camping trips with his family, working in his garden, going to the car races, good food, and watching the Mariners and the Seahawks games with his wife, Marilyn.  Rick loved to build models of cars and trucks, and had a love of trains ever since he was a child.  Rick had a very extensive model railroad that he built and made numerous updates to that he loved to share with friends and family.

Rick was a member of the Plasterers and Cement Masons Union  Local 528 for over 40 years. Rick was considered a master at his craft, and was asked to work on many well known buildings and homes in the Puget Sound region.  He loved his Savior Jesus and was a member of Centerpoint Christian Fellowship for over 30 years where he was a faithful servant to others in AWANA ministries, as a Deacon and a church Elder.  Rick became a member of Sunset Bible Church and served others along side his wife Marilyn in the Welcome Center and enjoyed attending coffee time and men's breakfast with his friends at Sunset. Rick was a compassionate, gentle giant that was loved by many.

Rick was preceded in death by his father, Martin James and his mother, Evelyn Mae.  Rick is survived by his wife Marilyn, brother Gary and his wife Sherry, sister Geraldine (Sam) Delgado and her husband Gerald, sons and daughters in law Rodney and Rebecca Parkos and Corey and Rachel Parkos, grandsons Lukas Parkos, Levi Parkos, Ethan Parkos, and granddaughters Mackenzie Howes, Amelia Parkos, and Niya Jones, sister in law Nancy Ostheller and her husband Karl, nephews Nathaniel Ostheller, Christopher Parkos, and niece Melissa Parkos.

A Celebration of Life will be held for Rick on June 14th, 2025 at 2pm at Sunset Bible Church, 7909 40th Street West, University Place WA 98466.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the building fund at Sunset Bible Church for their new Lakewood building, which Rick was very excited about seeing this project completed.
