Richard B. Merrin was born in Beattyville, Kentucky in the year of our Lord 1940.  He is survived by his wife Mary of 64 years; two sons, Ronald D. Merrin of Federal Way, WA, and Michael L. Merrin of Puyallup, WA; one daughter, Deborah L. Merrin of Las Vegas, NV; three grandsons, and five great-grandchildren.  He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents, Rev. and Mrs. William  L. Merrin, three brothers, and three sisters.  He was the youngest of seven.

Richard graduated from the University of WA, and worked for Boeing Co., ANR Freight Co., and Safeway Stores, Inc.  He retired in 2002 and kept busy around the house.  He was an avid reader, enjoyed many sports, and loved to travel with Mary.

He was active in his church until health issues arose.  He served on Session, taught Sunday School, and worked for many years with the youth of the Church.

He will be greatly missed by his family and especially by his beloved Mary.  Our life was a great adventure and God knew what he was doing when he brought us together.
