The family of Patricia Ann Murrie is saddened to announce that on the night of February 23, 2025, Pat, as she was lovingly known, passed away at the age of 82.

Pat was born in Springfield, Illinois on October 24, 1942, to the late Bernadine (Murphy) and Charles Vogt. This is where Pat was raised and spent her childhood. Growing up she was a part of the Catholic Church and Catholic School. She enjoyed bowling with her family, and of course sneaking sweet candy treats with her brother when their mom wasn't around or looking. After graduating high school, she married and relocated her life to Washington state where she started and raised her family. She later met her late husband, Kenneth Murrie, for whom she proudly served as a military wife. Aside from raising her family, she enjoyed hosting fondue parties after the kids were tucked in; and getting all dolled up and pampered to share a good meal. Pat enjoyed working in public education, first as a librarian at Jason Lee Middle School in Tacoma, then moving on to work at Central for the Tacoma School District until her retirement.

In retirement, she enjoyed her monthly scheduled dinners out with her group of lifelong friends, trying new and different restaurants. It was important to her to always keep her nails done and do her hair and makeup before leaving the house to go anywhere. She was always coordinating her matching outfit from head to toe, even her jewelry. Every time she went out for anything, she liked to stop for a bite to eat before returning home, whether that was alone or meeting family. Some of her favorite restaurants to stop at were Sharis and Red Lobster, or fish and chips from just about anywhere. Pat's sweet tooth never faded from childhood as she always kept a not-so-secret stash hidden somewhere. Other hobbies she enjoyed included crocheting, watching every Hallmark movie produced, making a point of catching General Hospital episodes whenever possible, spoiling her dog, Candy, and consistently adding to her porcelain doll collection. Pat also played a big hand in keeping both HSN and QVC in business until the end of her life; she liked to be sure to get one in every color. She enjoyed spending time with family and always made the holidays special with delicious feasts that consisted of recipes that were "measured with the heart" so they could never be duplicated and forever remain her secret recipes.

Pat was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Kenneth Murrie (1939-2019) & brother, Gary Vogt (1944-2008). Pat is survived by her sons William Tannahill and James (Jeanette) Tannahill; daughters Kelli Lopez and Kim (Brian) Carroll, 9 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and her brother, Dick (Elaine) Vogt.

She will be forever loved and missed.

Services will be held at New Tacoma Cemetery on Wednesday, March 19th, 2025. A memorial service will be held at noon, followed by a reception to Celebrate Pat's life. A viewing will proceed prior to the memorial service from 10 a.m. to noon.
