O'Dell Stephens,
Sr.
Aug 13, 1965 — Oct 29, 2023
O'Dell Stephens Sr. was born on August 13, 1965, in Tacoma, WA, the youngest of four children born to Mary and Clevel Stephens Sr.
O'Dell's failing heart took him away from us suddenly, on October 29, 2023, but his loving heart left a beacon of light for us all here on Earth. O'Dell was well known, often called "The King Of The Hill." He loved his city and will always be remembered as a fun-loving person who could make something out of nothing, going out of his way to help those in need. He loved his family and it showed. He was a hard worker who had a love for cars and keeping them clean. O'Dell had a big heart, never met a stranger, and would do anything for those he loved.
O'Dell attended several high schools in the Tacoma area, completing his education out of state. He often joked about attending multiple universities around the country as he continued his education, finally graduating in 2006. O'Dell loved life and wanted everyone around him to be comfortable and happy. He'd show up to family functions fashionably late, but he'd get there with a huge smile on his face and random gifts for others. He will be remembered as the coolest guy, with the best cars, and the one-liners that had no end. The lights of the Town aren't shining as bright, O'Dell will be immensely missed by everyone that knew him.
O'Dell was preceded in death by his father, Clevel Stephens Sr., and his oldest son, Michael Stephens Sr.
He is survived by his mother Mary Stephens, and his youngest son, O'Dell Stephens Jr.; grandchildren O'Dell III , O'mari, Aiden, and Michael Stephens Jr.; brother Clevel Stephens Jr., and sisters Judy Gilbert, Beverly Phelps, Theresa Tucker, Janette Simmons (Charles Simmons Sr.), and Jenice Freeman, as well as a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friend Shalaina.
The Stephens Family would like to take the time to thank all those who showed support during this difficult time. Thank you for your support, the thoughtful meals you brought, phone calls, and cards. Special thank you to O'Dell's nieces for all their hard work over the past week. We are forever grateful.
With Love and Kindness,
