Norman was born in Tacoma, WA to Erma and Kenneth Lawrence on March 03, 1933 and went
to be with the Lord on October 18, 2024 at the age of 91.

Norman graduated from Stadium High School in 1949 and from the University of Puget Sound
in 1955 with his degree in Business Administration. Throughout his time at UPS, Norman was a
proud member of the Sigma Chi fraternity. He completed his Basic Engineering courses at the
Tacoma Vocational and Technical school. In 1960, Norman went to serve in The United States
Coast Guard, and retired from his career as Lieutenant Commander in 1978. He held various
other positions during his time such as a driver's education instructor in the Clover Park School
District, and facilities planner at Boeing, Inc. Norman was an avid member of the armed forces,
and devoted his life to our country.

Norman was involved in many extra curriculars throughout his adolescence, including swimming
and other athletics. He was fascinated with science and studied weather, which followed
Norman into his adult life. Norman had a passion for cinema, cameras, loved radios and
weather instruments, Gretchen and Balto (his beloved German Shepherds), collecting firearms,
playing the bugle and trumpet, and loved his family. He was a proud member of the NRA,
National Geographic Society, and the Elks Club.

Norman is preceded in death by his father, Kenneth A. Lawrence; mother, Erma C. Lawrence;
sister, Julia LaVonne Anderson; brother-in-law; Theodore O. Johnson; niece, Denise C.
Winchester; nephew, Lawrence David Johnson (Lacey); and grandparents, Peter and Katrina
Norquist.

He is survived by his grandnephew, Kevin C. Russell; great grandniece, Julia R. Russell; and
great grandnephew, Kaiden D. Russell.

Norman was an amazing, loving son, brother, uncle, serviceman, engineer, athlete, and friend,
and will be missed by all who were blessed to know him.
