In Loving Memory of Naydene Morrow
Born in Las Vegas, Nevada, Naydene Morrow graced this world with her presence on May 3, 1929. With a heart full of love and a spirit that touched everyone she met, Naydene lived a life of kindness, generosity, and unwavering strength.
On Thursday, January 16, 2025, Naydene passed away, leaving behind a legacy of cherished memories and a profound impact on all who knew her. She was married in 1949 to Bernard (Barney) Morrow, a dedicated Air Force pilot, and together they navigated the many moves and challenges of military life. Throughout their 65 years of marriage, she remained a steadfast supporter of her husband's career.
Naydene held a variety of jobs throughout her life, showcasing her versatility and dedication. She served as a secretary to the chief of police in Las Vegas, worked as a clerk at Nellis AFB, and was a church secretary at First Baptist Church of Lakewood during the tenure of Pastor Cecil Sims and Music Ministry Jerry Wittenmyer. Additionally, she was the church treasurer for Temple Baptist Church and worked as a bookkeeper for a Finch Accounting.
In her leisure time, Naydene found joy in reading, knitting, gardening, and embroidery. She was an avid baseball fan, cheering for the Dodgers and Mariners, and enjoyed watching rodeos. Her love for entertaining and having people over was well-known, and she delighted in playing bridge and Hand-&-Foot with friends and family.
Naydene embraced her faith in Jesus as her Lord and Savior at the age of 32. She found joy in teaching Sunday School and Vacation Bible School at various locations where Barney was stationed. Throughout the years she taught young married women, 3rd and 4th graders, 7th grade youth, and adults. Her servant's heart shone brightly, as she genuinely cared for others. Naydene was known for her kindness—providing meals, driving people to appointments, visiting those in the hospital or housebound, and welcoming others into her home for shared meals.
Naydene Morrow is survived by George (Melissa) Morrow, Mira (Steve) Hook and Paula (Bob) Swann. She was blessed with 10 grandchildren and 10 greatgrandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard Morrow.
