Myrna Lee Bruscas

March 10, 1934 - August 5, 2026

Our amazing and blessed mother, Myrna Lee (Copsey) Bruscas, passed on to be with the Lord and her family in heaven on Aug. 5, 2026. She was 92 years old. It was a peaceful release for her, with many family members able to visit with Myrna in her final weeks.

She was preceded in death (2010) by her husband and high school sweetheart, Angelo Mario Bruscas Jr. and (2020) grandson Brandon Barrick. Myrna is survived by five children, eight grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.

Survivors include: sons Angelo M. Bruscas III of Ocean Shores and David (Teresa) Bruscas of Tacoma; daughters Anita Bruscas of Lakewood, Annette (Michael) Meseroll of Snohomish, and Patty (Rick) Barnes of Olympia.

"Each one of my children is a gift from God," Myrna wrote in her family book titled For the Enduring Love of Family. "It is a kind of love that will never end, it sustains me. It has been a joy to watch them grow and become the special persons they were meant to be. . . . Now I have more and more to embrace and love in my very special grandchildren: Michael and Becky, Jared and Marna, Ty, Derek and Leah, and Alexa. And God has blessed me to know my great-grandchildren: Anthony, Jordan and Jacob, Layla, Ricky and Jayden, Molly, Ellie, Lucas, Peyton and Parker. God has blessed me and given me so many to love."

Myrna was a 1951 graduate of Pacific Grove, CA, High School and attended San Jose State University. She was the last surviving daughter of Kenneth and Marna Copsey of Pacific Grove, CA, and her father was the longtime pharmacist and owner of the Palace Drug Store in Monterey, CA.

In addition to raising her five children, Myrna worked at several banks as a teller and also served as the secretary of the Little Church on the Prairie in Lakewood, WA. Myrna was also a co-owner of Carol's Maple Valley Floral with daughter Annette. She was a member of University Place Presbyterian Church and often watched Sunday services online in her later years.

"In looking back over the years, through the good times and difficult times, God has always loved me, forgiven me, provided for and even given me blessings of things I didn't even know I needed," Myrna wrote in her book.
"What is God's love?"  She quoted I John 4:10: "This is real love – not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins."

A celebration of Myrna's life will be at 2 p.m. Sunday Sept. 13 at the University Place Presbyterian Church, 8101 27th St. W in University Place, WA.
