Maureen Moore Drucker of Tacoma, Washington died in the early morning hours of June 7, 2023 at Frank Tobey Jones, a senior living facility in Tacoma, Washington.

Born on August 1, 1940 to Irene and Allan Moore in Vancouver, British Columbia, Maureen made the West Coast her home following her parents' emigration to the United States in 1950.

The middle of three sisters, Maureen graduated from Lincoln High in Tacoma in 1958. She received her undergraduate education from the University of Washington, Master's Degree in Social Work from UCLA as well as her JD from Western State College of Law.

In 1962, Maureen married Paul Drucker and settled in Los Angeles. Professionally, she was an empathic and skilled counselor. She was actively engaged in volunteer work for the Democratic Party of Orange County. Maureen was passionate about social justice and equality for all.

Maureen and Paul had two children (Jonathan and Megan) and she continued her professional life while raising her family. Following her divorce, she continued to raise her children to become strong, independent, and compassionate adults. When she married Bruce Fink in 1980 her family expanded to include his son Lee whom she loved and nurtured as her own.

As her children reached adulthood, Maureen embarked on new adventures. A spirited traveler, she often traveled with her sister and visited India, South America, Mexico, Europe, Africa, Southeast Asia, Sri Lanka to list only a few. She preferred an authentic travel experience, immersing herself in local cultures. Luxurious travel was not for her – she preferred sleeping rough, rucksack on her back, living local, immersing herself in local cultures and forming genuine connections with people she encountered along the way. Her willingness to listen with genuine interest and fascination to others around her grew her circle across the globe. Whether on a park bench in Mumbai or chatting with fellow passengers in economy class, Maureen's curiosity knew no bounds. She understood the value of time and seized every opportunity to learn and see more.

Her heart grew with the marriages of her children – Jonathan to Michele and Megan to David. In her eyes, there were no "in-laws" – everyone was her child. As Jonathan and Michele settled in South Florida and Megan and David in New Hampshire, Maureen's visits to the East Coast became more frequent. During these visits, she would eagerly lend a helping hand, whether decorating rooms, moving furniture, planting flowers, or scrubbing the floors. Sitting still was not her style.  Maureen found immense joy and admiration in her role as a a grandmother. She adored her grandchildren – Reia, Colin, Max, Hannah, Ben, Beckett, and Cooper and her first great-grandchild, Bair, born last summer.

Maureen had a strong bond with her entire family including her sisters (Colleen and partner Tom, and Kendra), her nieces (Kelly and husband Bob, McKenna and husband Marshall) and nephew (Michael) and their families including Curtis, Stephen, Biko, Kassie, Mayan, Alice and Zoe.

Time with family was important and every family gathering was filled with joy.  Maureen cherished living near many of these family members in her later years and especially loved when family could all be together. She also had many friends throughout the country and each of them was special to her.

Maureen's family is grateful to her niece Kelly and her husband Bob for providing support during the last several years of her life as she dealt with dementia. Kelly's love for Maureen was deep and her care for her in the last few years was not only an act of profound love, but provided solace and security for her family living further away. She allowed Maureen to live and leave as she wished. We are forever grateful.

Maureen was predeceased by her nephew Michael and her great-nephew Biko.

With her death, she continues to love us, teach us, and cherish us.

Maureen's cremains will be laid to rest alongside those of her beloved parents in Tacoma. A celebration of her remarkable life will be scheduled at a later date.
