Mark Isozaki

March 13, 1961–January 10, 2026

Mark Isozaki passed away on January 10, 2026. He was born on March 13, 1961, in Tacoma, Washington.

Mark is survived by his loving wife, Mandy Yip Isozaki, and their beautiful son, Ethan Isozaki, as well as his children from a previous marriage, Kazuha and Eddie Asai. Mark is survived by his parents, Tony and Sumiko Isozaki, his two sisters, Lucy Brown (husband Philip Brown (Miko and Sean)), and Lisa Isozaki (husband Greg Thiessen). Other surviving family members include Mandy's brother, Victor Yip, and Mark's Aunt Wako (Fujiwara) Isozaki and cousin Fred Isozaki.

Mark's 64 years of life were filled with love, knowledge seeking, work that took him around the world, travel, adventures, and family devotion. He held two degrees of higher education: a Bachelor of Administration in Hotel and Restaurant Administration from Washington State University, and a Master's in Public Service in Tourism from the University of Hawaii, School of Travel Industry Management. Mark worked in the hospitality industry for over 20 years working for several multinational companies that provided him opportunities to travel the world. His real-life work experiences also led to teaching and academic pursuits. One of his many accomplishments includes a jointly published article with his friend and colleague, Drew Martin titled "Path Analysis of Multinational Strategic Marketing Decisions: Asia-Pacific Hotel China Strategies in Turbulent Times" published in the Journal of Business Research.

During the latter part of Mark's life, he pivoted from a successful business career to life in Tacoma, Washington, where he devoted himself to his parents.  In true partnership with Mandy, they both took on the responsibility of ensuring the health and well-being of his parents not only providing day to day care, but enjoying wonderful family vacations that included various cruises to Mexico and Alaska and extensive travel to Singapore and Japan.

Mark loved to take care of other people and did it fully and completely with laughter and grace and all the love in his heart. He was a dedicated father who loved to watch Ethan at his swimming lessons and meets, hearing him play the violin and piano, and taking his family to enjoy simple pleasures like favorite foods around town. Mark's other passion was golf where he was able to connect with friends and family while playing a game he loved.

The funeral service and visitation will be held at New Tacoma's Chambers Creek Chapel, located at 9221 Chambers Creek Road W., University Place, WA 98467 on January 26 from 10:30am -11:30am.
