Our beloved mother and grandmother, Louise Mary Schumock, passed away peacefully on October 13, 2025, after a long and brave battle with cancer. She was 87 years old.

Louise was born in Oak Park, Illinois, in 1938, and spent her childhood in both Oak Park and Buffalo, New York. After graduating from Marquette University in physical therapy, she moved to Long Beach, California. There, she met Fred Schumock, the man who would become her husband and partner through decades of love, laughter, and family. In 1971, Louise and Fred moved the family to Lakewood, Washington where they remained for the rest of their lives

Louise's greatest joy was her family. She was the proud mother of four, grandmother of seven, and great grandmother of one. Family get-togethers were her favorite as she loved seeing everyone together.

Louise worked as a physical therapist for many years. She was an avid reader, and she enjoyed playing tennis, hiking, getting together with friends, and taking vigorous walks. Louise had a soft spot for dogs and spent years volunteering at the Tacoma Humane Society. She also volunteered with Our Lady of Guadalupe Maternity Center, St John Bosco Funeral Ministry & Food Bank Garden, and later with Hospice House. Louise was a dedicated and humble volunteer who set a beautiful example of care and community service.

A service will be held to celebrate her life at 11:00am on December 5th, 2025, at St. John Bosco Catholic church in Lakewood, WA. In honor of Louise, we invite those who wish to do so to make a donation to a local animal shelter, Our Lady of Guadalupe Maternity Center in Lakewood, Hospice House or a cancer research organization.

Louise will be missed every single day and remembered fondly.
