On Tuesday, April 7, 1936, in Putnam Hall Florida, Lawrence L. Bryant Jr. was born to Lawrence Bryant Sr. and Pearl Wright Bryant.  Lawrence spent his early years between Putnam Hall and Florahome Fl where he became an awesome hunter, fisherman and horticulturist.  Lawrence also spent 2 separate stints as a juvenile in Tacoma with his older brother Luke Bryant where he attended McCarver Intermediate School.  Lawrence had grown to love the Pacific Northwest's (PNW) beautiful scenery and hoped he would one day be back in the shadow of Mt. Rainier as an adult.  After returning to Putnam Hall, he married his soulmate Alene Davis and from this union 5 children were born:  Gerald, LaQueda, Melvin, Reggie and Aldeana.

Lawrence and Alene were both born with the love of God and music in their hearts.  With Lawrence "tickling the ivory keys" and Alene's powerful vocals they became a renowned duo in several groups and choirs throughout the Southeast.  Although he always cherished and bragged of his Floridian home and upbringing Lawrence had left a piece of his heart in Tacoma where he believed more opportunities would be available for his family.  Lawrence moved the family to the PNW in the late 60's where they continued making waves in the gospel circles.  He was immediately recognized as one of the most talented musicians in the area and was highly sought after by a multitude of organizations and churches.  Over the years Lawrence served as the Lead Musician and or Minister of Music at Bethlehem Baptist Church, St. John Missionary Baptist Church and Mt. Calvary Baptist Church as well as a multitude of local and state choirs.  Together, Lawrence and Alene were a huge influence in the local gospel community in the early 70's by introducing the PNW to their down south style of vocals, spirituals, choral arrangements and Lawrence killing them keys!

Lawrence was an awesome provider and often worked 2 full time jobs to ensure his families every need was met.  It was important that his children had an opportunity to see the beauty of this world.  He took his family on multiple vacations, scenic drives or long weekends every year – Yellowstone National Park, California beaches, Miami, Daytona and all the PNW's grandeur, just to name a few. He worked hard and took pride in his family enjoying the fruits of his labor.

When Lawrence wasn't working, he could be found sharing his skills and knowledge with up-and-coming musicians in the local area, teaching them to read music, play by ear, how to properly accompany a singer and to adlib. He spent countless hours tending his flower and vegetable gardens so that he could outshine his neighbors in their unofficial competitions.  Lawrence was also a terrific fisherman.  Rising early and heading to the lake was one of his favorite pastimes during his later years.  Fishing fell just behind sitting next to the love of his life (Alene) in their recliners watching Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy.

Lawrence is survived by his sons Gerald Bryant (Gloria), Lancelot Bryant, his daughters LaQueda Bryant Eugene (Kelvin), Aldeana Bryant Doss, and his grandson Ramôn Bryant Braxton. He was proceeded in death by his one true love Alene Bryant, his beloved sons Melvin Bryant and Reggie Bryant, his parents Lawrence Sr. & Pearl Bryant, brothers Aaron Bryant, Luke Bryant, Jerry Bryant, Gus Bryant, Lawrence "A". Bryant, Leriona Bryant, Johnny Bryant and sister Gussie Western Bryant.

Lawrence leaves a multitude of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends to celebrate his life and love filled memories.
