After a full life of 96 years, June "Evelyn" Gosnell answered the Lord's call and passed away peacefully at Eliseo Care Center in Tacoma, Washington.

She is survived by her children, Allan, Tama, Mark, Jim, and Aaron; 13 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. Her beloved husband of 69 years, Wilfred Gosnell, preceded her in death four years earlier.

Evelyn was born in Bickleton, Washington, and graduated from Sunnyside High School. She often described her life's occupation as a homemaker, yet her talents and contributions extended far beyond that title. A devoted wife and mother of five, she was also an active partner in home construction. She canned foods and preserves, sewed clothing, refined her needlework into beautiful works of art, and developed her woodworking skills into award-winning wood carvings. She was a very inspired individual.

Her love of nature led her to enjoy camping and blossomed into a lifelong passion for gardening. While not a certified master gardener, many thought she was. Evelyn also took many trips and had travels that brought her great joy. Her love of God was evident throughout her life. She attended Pasco Baptist Church before her husband's work brought their family across the mountains to Mirror Lake Baptist Church in Federal Way, where she became an active member and helped construct the church. Then, Covington Community Church of the Brethren. For about three decades, she and her husband called Tacoma Life Center their church home. She continued her worship at Eliseo in the last year of her life.

Evelyn's greatest joy was being surrounded by family and friends in her warmly personalized home.
