Julian Freeman Gallion, Jr peacefully went home to be with his Savior on October 15, 2023.  Julian was born on April 20, 1927, in Seiper, Louisiana to Julian Sr and Tena Gallion, and was the youngest boy of 17 children. He was preceded in death by his wife, Judy, and daughter, Glenda Emmett.  He is survived by his son, Don, daughter, Kathy Young, daughter-in-law, Denise, 9 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren.  One amazing blessing in his life is that he got to meet every one of his great-grandchildren, all of whom had wonderful relationships with him and loved him dearly.

Julian was the epitome of "The Greatest Generation". His dad had to sign the paperwork to allow him to join the Navy when he was 17 years old in 1944.  He later transferred to the Army where he served from the end of WWII, the Korean War, to the Vietnam War. He married his wife, Judy (Setsu) Tominaga, on April 25, 1951, in Sasebo City, Japan.  Judy and Julian celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on April 25, 2021, with a party surrounded by family.  After 20 years of moving while in the Army, Julian retired and settled with his family in Lakewood, Washington, in 1968.  He then worked in construction and later retail. He even helped build the house in Puyallup they moved into in November of 1973, the house where he passed away almost 50 years later.  He faithfully served his Lord and Savior and attended both South Hill Baptist Church and later Bethel Baptist until his passing.  Even at the age of 96, he asked for his offering to be taken to the mailbox to send to his church.  Before every meal, in the year and 10 months we had the privilege to care for him, he would bow his head and give thanks to the Lord for the meal.  He never ate without giving thanks.

Julian was known for his hospitality, generosity, and sense of humor.  No matter who came to visit, they were always welcomed with many stories and humor he would weave in while conversing.  In his earlier days, he was known for fixing anything that was broken, and he would try to fix anything that was brought to him. Even at the end of his life, he would find humor in everyday events.  He never had a lot in terms of earthly things, but what he had he gave to anyone in need.  He was always looking for ways to give to anyone who needed help.  He touched the lives of so many and left a legacy of faith, hospitality, generosity, and humor for his family and friends.

Our Dad and Papa will be missed greatly, but he left a legacy of faith and a family he loved and who loved him unconditionally.  He ran a great race and finished strong. May we live up to the legacy he left us.  Rest in peace, Papa.
