Obituary

Joy Donohue (Pauline Joyanne), age 49, passed away on June 12th.

Joy was the beloved daughter of Dan and Teresa Donohue. She leaves behind her cherished siblings: Patty (Paul), Dan Jr. (Heidi), and Kristin (Marc). Joy was the fun and crazy aunt to her nieces Olivia, Lydia, Lauren, and MaryLou, and her nephews Isaac, Danny, and Charlie. In addition to her immediate family, Joy has a large extended family and many friends who will miss her thoughtful heart and infectious laughter.

Joy lived life to the fullest, and her vibrant spirit touched many. She loved a good adventure, and was known as Danger Girl or Smarty Pants in her many circles of friends.  She loved the outdoors, Jay Buhner, Halloween, going to battle to save a church, The Princess Bride, motorcycles, and spending time with her family. She took great care of her garden and plants and patiently raised wayward chickens and ducks.  We all will miss her special homemade Christmas gifts, and her witty, amazing, and gifted writing she often shared in her blog, DangerGirl Lives.

Joy will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her. Her legacy of love, laughter, and adventure will continue to inspire those of us that were fortunate to know and love her.

A celebration of Life will be held July 3rd, beginning at St. Francis Cabrini Church, 5715 108th St SW, Lakewood, WA. Rosary will be recited at 10:30am with mass following at 11:00am. We invite you to then join us to share your memories of Joy at a celebration of her life at the Environmental Service Building at Chambers Bay, 9850 64th St W University Place, WA.

Joy's family wishes to extend their heartfelt appreciation for the outpouring of love, support, and condolences during this difficult time.
