Jose Velez tragically passed away on November 30, 2022, in Puyallup, Washington. Jose was born in Camden, New Jersey on April 28, 1979. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife, Q Velez, mother, Angelica Velez, son, Giovanni Velez, son, Deon Velez, daughter, Sarah Velez, daughter, Brooklyn Velez, stepchildren, Anthony and Jayden, brothers, Ramon Velez and David Velez, sisters, Marylan Coles (Carnel), Carmen M. Robles (Miguel), one grandchild, Ja'layah Martinez, a mother-in-law, father-in-law, and five brothers-in-law and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends. Jose is predeceased by his father, Ramon Velez, and Brother, Daniel Velez.

Jose resided in Camden, New Jersey before he moved to Washington state in 2010 where he began his career as a barber. Jose had a passion for cutting hair. He loved his community and often mentored those in his presence. There were two things that he put first in his life and that were God and his family. Throughout the day, Jose often thanked God for everything and often led his family in prayer. Jose put his heart into everything he accomplished. He found peace when he was riding his motorcycle and playing his music. When he was not cutting hair, you would often find him in his garage or on his favorite couch drinking coffee or taking his daughter for ice cream after school. Jose will be extremely missed; words cannot express.

A memorial service in honor of Jose's life will be held at New Tacoma Cemeteries-Funeral, University Place, WA, on Sunday, January 8, 2023, 11:00 a.m. for family and friends. Interment will follow service for the family and a repast after the internment for family and friends to share memories.
