Roy
John Leslee Kizer 79, passed away peacefully on December 13th, 2022, surrounded by family. He had a four-year battle with cancer.
He graduated from Eatonville HS in 1962. Following High School he went to work in the boatyards in Tacoma. After leaving the boatyard he started working in the woods as a tree faller and in 1977 started his own business, John L. Kizer Trucking driving a self loading logging truck for 35 years. He was also a farmer and raised beef cattle until 2021.
He was a kind loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. He was a fierce protector of his family and always made them feel safe. He had many friends, was loved by all that knew him, and was always the first to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping in the motorhome and farming. He never missed a trip to Iowa to celebrate Jacob's birthday and enjoyed watching Olivia and Mason in sports or activities they participated in.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Sheryle, daughter Dawn Cochran (Tom), Diana Wood (Mike) and three grandchildren who he loved dearly, Jacob Cochran, Olivia Wood, Mason Wood, his sisters Kathy Sisco (Joe) and Pam McQuillin (Bob). He was preceded in death by his parents John A. and Alberta Kizer.
In lieu of flowers, please make remembrance donations for John to St. Jude's Foundation.
