Jesse Carroll Peebles, age 82, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 16, 2023. He was born September 9, 1940 in Uvalde, Texas to Lillian Vida and William Peebles. Jesse was beloved by his family and will be missed greatly.

He is survived by the love of his life of 54 years, Miyoko Peebles; son, Tommy (Sarah) Peebles; daughter, Mary (Tim) Lougheed; daughter-in-law, Tammy Peebles; six grandchildren, Christopher Peebles, Stephanie Peebles, Cameron Peebles, Sarah Cole, Rebecca Lougheed, and Tommy Peebles; one great-grandchild, Nicholae Peebles; sister, Jean Brown; and many extended family members and friends. Jesse was predeceased by his mother, Lillian Vida (Denmark) Peebles; brothers, William Peebles and Ray Peebles; son, Jesse H. Peebles.

Jesse had a heart to serve. He served in the US Army for 22 years, served in civil service and served as a deacon at his church, First Baptist Church of Lakewood for over 30 years.

He kept himself busy by reading, doing crosswords, watching westerns, tinkering in the garage, working in his backyard pond and cooking for others.

A committal service for the family will be held at New Tacoma Cemetery on Friday, April 14, at 10:00am. A memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church of Lakewood on Friday, April 14 at 11:30am.
