Jerry Menge - Gone Fishing

Jerry was born on February 5, 1942, in Hazen, North Dakota to John and Beatrice Menge. He died on March 30, 2024, in Tacoma, Washington. Jerry moved to Tacoma as a young infant and spent his remaining years in Tacoma.

Jerry was a commercial painter in his working life and an avid fisherman and bowler, among other interests, in his leisure time.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Jan of 42 years; his son, Jon, and wife Melissa daughter, Jen, and husband, AJ; granddaughters: Juls, Milla, Layla, Hayden, Luna, and grandson, Hank. Four sisters: Donna, Joann, Marvel, and Margie, and husband, Pat. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Jerry went to many schools in the Tacoma area and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1960. He served in the U.S. Army in the mid-sixties.

The family would like to thank the owners and caregivers of the Adult Family Home, Affable Palace, for their 24/7 care of Jerry for the last 18 months of his life. Knowing he was being so well taken care of was a great relief for the family.

A funeral service, graveside service, and light refreshments will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2024, at 11:00 AM at the New Tacoma Cemetery, Chambers Creek Chapel.
