Jeralee Helen
Folsom (Weston)
Aug 17, 1938 — Mar 8, 2023
Tacoma
Jeralee Helen Folsom (Weston), passed away peacefully on March 8, 2023, while residing at Bridgeport Place. Jeralee was born in Shelton and graduated from Irene S. Reed High School in Shelton in 1957. She married Daryl Folsom in 1957 and they were married for 62 years until his passing. They had moved to Tacoma in 1958 after the birth of their first child.
She became a homemaker, raising 4 children in their home on the Hilltop of Tacoma. She worked as a playground supervisor at Bryant Elementary where her children were all enrolled in school. She was a Campfire girls' leader for a period when her daughters were in it. She loved doing ceramics with friends and family. Later in life, when their children were grown up and out on their own, she did volunteer work for MultiCare at Tacoma General Hospital.
She was an avid baker and cookie maker, as she loved to make cookies for others for all kinds of occasions. And always made pies for holiday get-togethers and special celebrations. And she loved decorating for every holiday, especially Christmas!
She attended as many sporting and school events as she could for her children, and this continued with going to watch her grandchildren and great-grandchildren the same way.
She always had a kind word for everybody, made friends easily, and always told stories to others about her family, as she was so proud of them. And many of her friend's children called her 'Mom' or 'Nana Jaye' too.
Jeralee (Jaye) survived by her brother Joseph Weston, is preceded in death by her husband, Daryl, and her parents, Clarence and Esther Weston, sister Beverly Vopat, and brother Edward "Butch" Weston. She is survived by her children, Janice (Mike) Mercurio, Jill (Randy) McAllister, Jodi Lester, and Dwayne (Debra) Folsom; grandchildren, Todd (Jennifer) Mercurio, Melissa (Sangkros) Lok, Nicole McAllister, Jessica (Garrett) Pepich, Ryan Lester, Kyle, Connor, and Jake Folsom; great-grandchildren Melina, Logan and Landon Lok, Mason, Parker and Kinsley Mercurio, Levi Folsom, and Christian Pepich; "adopted" daughter Melody (Terry) Luppino and kids Heather, Kovey, and Natalie.
