In Loving Memory of Janice Patricia Cooper, October 3, 1936 – March 20, 2026

Janice Patricia Cooper, a longtime resident of University Place, Washington, went to be with her Heavenly Father on the morning of March 20, 2026.

Born on October 3, 1936, in Anaconda, Montana, Janice moved to Texas as a young girl. It was there that she met and married her husband, Charles Cooper, beginning a lifelong journey of matrimony and service to the United States Air Force.

As a military spouse, Janice was the embodiment of resilience and adaptability. She navigated the unique challenges of military life—long separations, frequent relocations, and constant uncertainty—with a quiet, steadfast strength. While raising three children, she began her own career within Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR). Through decades of dedication and hard work, she rose through the ranks to retire honorably as the Head of Civilian Personnel (NAF) at McChord Air Force Base.

At home, Janice provided the stable foundation upon which her family was built. She applied the discipline of military life to her household, always sacrificing her own needs for those of her children. Beyond her career and home, she was a faithful member of St. Charles Borromeo in Tacoma. Janice found joy in the simple things—gardening, pottery, and the company of her beloved pets—but she also possessed a vibrant, adventurous soul. Whether she was discovering a new restaurant for Mother's Day or roaming the Las Vegas strip in a limousine with a glass of champagne, she met the unknown with a signature, childlike excitement.

Janice is survived by her children, Charles Cooper Jr., Patricia Liscott, and Jon Cooper; her siblings, Marcia Linville and William Clancy; her grandchildren, Timothy, Charles, Erin, Ethan, and Evan; and her great-grandchildren, Payton and Sophia.
