Jack LeRoy Beckman (07/18/1932 – 09/23/2023), a cherished member of the Tacoma community for many years, peacefully passed away and  now joins his beloved wife, Maile Ann Newton Beckman, in the afterlife.

Jack is survived by his and Maile's five children: Bruce, Lani (Doug), Steven (Donna), Russell, and Sean ( Becky). Together, they have been blessed with 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, a testament to the rich legacy he leaves behind.

Jack's journey in life was marked by his service as a dedicated soldier in the US Army. He bravely served during both the Korean and Vietnam conflicts. His military career began at the tender age of 17 when he ventured to Korea, where he operated the 155MM Howitzer Gun as an artilleryman. In Vietnam, he served as a Cavalry Scout, maneuvering through the dense jungles in pursuit of the Viet Cong.

Following his honorable discharge from the military, Jack transitioned into the world of "Long Haul" semi-truck driving, contributing his skills to various companies, with his final stop being Nalley Foods in Tacoma.

Upon his "ultimate retirement" from the workforce, Jack dedicated his time to volunteer work within his church, where he served in numerous roles. His tireless efforts and selflessness earned him the admiration and affection of all who had the privilege of knowing him, leaving a lasting legacy of kindness, service, and love.

Jack, rest peacefully, knowing that those you have guided and inspired will continue to carry on your legacy. Your enormous shoes will be filled with the hope of doing life as well as you did, and your memory will forever be a beacon of inspiration.
