Howard Ashley 92, of Tacoma, Washington was born August 10th, 1929, in Dover, CA, to Frank and Ruth Ashley. He grew up in the Gig Harbor area and graduated from Peninsula High School. After high school, Howard began working in Olympia, Washington and attended the University of Puget Sound. His studies led him to the accounting field.

As an adult Howard was active in the community. He was a member of a Toastmaster's Club, served as church treasurer, and sat on the board of the Metropolitan Parks of Tacoma.

He worked several years at a C.P.A firm in Tacoma before venturing out on his own. He operated his own business until age 82.

All his life Howard always was involved in some sport, but his passion was for tennis which he played into his 80's. Howard also enjoyed food and had a serious craving for chocolate. He was never far from a Hershey's bar! There was always one stashed in his desk drawer and in recent months he added Reese's Peanut Butter Cups to his lunchtime routine.

Howard went home to be with his Savior on Sunday, July 31st, 2022. He was surrounded by his family at his home. He is survived by his wife Carol, son David and daughter in law (Lindsay), three grandchildren (Collin, Dawson, and Tyson) and cousin Sandy Amador.

A graveside service will be held at the New Tacoma Cemetery in University Place, WA on Monday, August 15th at 2:30pm.
