On February 22nd, 1927, Georgina Lucille Olson was born as the sixth of the eventual ten children of James Olson and Josephine (Sime) Olson in Southam, North Dakota. She spent her early years on the family's working farm in Devil's Lake. At the age of 18, Georgina moved to the Pacific Northwest and joined her sister Agnes and her husband Walt in their home in Parkland, Washington.

At 20, Georgina married Paul Roseth, who was on active duty in the Air Force at McChord AFB in Lakewood.  The marriage produced her first three Children in Pauletta, Jim, and John Roseth.  Paul and Georgina later divorced, and after some time, she remarried Walter Burlingame, becoming step-mother to Walt's son Carl, and had two more sons, Mark and Matt.  She resided in Steilacoom from 1962 until her passing in December.

A life-long learner and reader, Georgina worked at various jobs when necessary, but was a stay-at-home Mom for the largest portion of her mid-life.  As the youngest of her children made their way to high school, she found her longest-running job providing care for preschoolers at the Little Red Schoolhouse and later at Oakbrook Daycare.  She found great reward in being with the young kids and enjoyed sharpening their minds and preparing them for entrance to regular school.

Along the way, Georgina had many challenges in her life, from a humble and tough childhood to a major stroke nearly 30 years ago, and she met and overcame them all with grit and perseverance. She was preceded in death by her husband Walt, all of her siblings, and two of her children, Pauletta and John.  She leaves behind stepson CB, sons Jim, Mark, and Matt, and a number of grand and great-grandchildren.  She loved greatly and was greatly loved.

The family would like to thank the team at Franciscan Hospice (Diane, Pai, Terry, Kyoung, Merrillee, Kathy, Kevin, and James) for their kindness over the last 18 months.   Their persistence and compassion were second to none. We would also like to thank the Uluilakepa ladies (Nana, Siva, and Malo) for your amazing care over the last 13 months. You cared for our Mom like she was part of your own family, and you became a part of ours as well. We could not have done this without you.
