George Peter Delyanis, 82, cherished husband, father, grandfather, and brother, passed away on June 13, 2022.

George, the son of Peter and Helen Delyanis, was born in New York on January 12, 1940. He grew up in Flushing, Garden City, and Long Island. George graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 1961, and the Albany School of Medicine in 1965. He completed his internship in Philadelphia where his son, Peter, was born. Three years later, George, his wife Jane, and their son Peter moved to Cleveland for his residency where his daughter Annie was born.  In 1970, George moved his family across the country to Tacoma, Washington to take up private practice at Neurology & Neurosurgery Associates. George was a passionate and well-respected physician for over 40 years.

In 1983 he married Virginia Delyanis and created a family of five with his children, Peter and Annie, and Virginia's daughter, Victoria.

George was a dedicated and loyal member of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, where he was affectionately known as "Dr. George." He attended weekly bible study classes and volunteered at the annual Greek Festival with his granddaughter, Alexandra. In 2012, George joined the Parish Council.

He is preceded in death by nine days by his wife, Virginia,  as well as his sister Corinne Midouhas, and his parents, Peter and Helen. He is survived by his children Peter (Lianne) Delyanis, Annie Delyanis and Victoria Chavis, his five grandchildren; Alexandra, Mikala, Nickolas, Gabrielle, and Arianna. He is also survived by his younger brother, Aristide (Ella) Delyanis, nephews Matthew (Missy) and Michael and niece, Megan.

George will be lovingly remembered for his dedication to his family, his altruistic career as a physician, his sense of humor, his love of fishing which he shared with his son, Peter, and many inside jokes he shared with his daughter, Annie.

Family graveside services will be on Saturday, June 18 where he will be laid to rest alongside his wife, Virginia, on their 39th wedding anniversary. Church services at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church will be forthcoming.
