Franklin Fonda Ross, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, veteran, and community pillar, passed away peacefully on May 21, 2024. Born on June 17, 1942, Franklin lived a life full of love, laughter, and dedication. Franklin is survived by his loving wife, Peggy Ross, his cherished daughter, Aimee Ross, stepdaughter Nicole Schwarz, stepson Ivan Schwarz, and his adored grandchildren, Broderick Schwarz, Dylan Schwarz, Avery Champagne, Will Champagne, and Marijka Bedard.

As an Air Force veteran, Franklin served his country with pride and honor. Following his service, he began his career as a gas station mechanic in the 1960s and 1970s, laying the groundwork for his entrepreneurial spirit. He went on to found the Rustin Inn, a beloved establishment he owned for over 35 years. Known for his boisterous laugh and generous heart, Franklin often opened bar tabs and provided free breakfasts and dinners for those in need. His kindness and warm spirit touched the lives of many in his community. A dedicated volunteer firefighter in the town of Ruston.

Franklin was from of the large Ross Family ,which included 16 brothers and sisters. He grew up in Farmville, North Carolina, where he developed a lifelong love for fishing and enjoyed countless trips to Westport. Franklin was a man who relished life's simple pleasures. Often seen riding his four-wheeler or speeding down his own road with children in tow, he was best known for his pig cooking and chicken frying skills. He worked hard, loved deeply, and made everyone he met feel special, remembering each person by name. Franklin Ross was a self-made man whose legacy of hard work, love, and generosity will continue to inspire all who knew him. His infectious laughter and boundless kindness will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of his family and friends forever.
