Euester "Joe" Valliant
Surrounded by family, Euester Joseph Valliant passed away on October 17, 2022 at the age of 91. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Pearl Valliant, all but one siblings, and his wife, Marlies.
Joe was born in Corinth, Vermont in 1931. He loved his hometown and often spoke of Turkey Hill, farming, sugaring, snow storms and the beauty of Autumn.
As a young man, Joe enlisted in the Army. During his service, he traveled to many countries including Germany where he met and married the love of his life, Marlies. In 1966 Joe was transferred to Fort Lewis. He settled in Tacoma with his family and was proud to call Washington his home. Joe retired from the Army after serving 20 years including tours of duty in Korea and Vietnam. After retirement, Joe worked for St. Regis and The Truss Company.
Joe enjoyed spending time with his family, hunting, fly fishing, bird watching, crossword puzzles, poetry and watching sports especially the Mariners and Seahawks.
No words can express what an amazing man, a true gentleman, he was. His eldest sister Hazel said of him, "A Prince of a Man." Devoted husband, father and Opa best describes him. He always made sure family were loved, happy, safe and secure. Joe adored and doted on the little ones, his legacy.
Joe is survived by his children E John Valliant, Veronika Hawkins and Juanita Villa, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A viewing and service will be held at the New Tacoma Cemetery in University Place on Friday, October 28, 2022. The viewing will be from 10:00AM to 11:00AM when the service will begin.
In lieu of flowers help someone you love or someone in need. Shake a soldier's hand. Thank them for their service.
Dad, Daddy, Opa, you will be so missed. Some solace may be found knowing you are again dancing with Marlies, your love eternal in Heaven.
