Douglas Preston Norris passed away on November 27, 2025 at the age of 81 years old. He
was born July 17, 1944. He was predeceased by his Mother, Norma (Norris) Ferris, and his
Father, Gordon W. Norris, local Tacoma architect. Douglas grew up in Tacoma, WA. and
attended local elementary and middle schools, and graduated from Woodrow Wilson High
School in 1962. He was also confirmed in the Lutheran church. He went on to graduate from
the University of Washington in Seattle in computer technology which prepared him for a lifetime
of work with several different companies from which he then retired when he was 68 years old.
Douglas also served in the Washington State National Guard. He lived on Beacon Hill in
Seattle, WA. where he continued his love of music as a gifted piano player all his life.

Douglas is survived by three siblings including his sister, Christine (Norris) Yuckert, and his two
brothers Craig Norris, and Gordon R. Norris. He is also survived by three nieces Dagne
(Yuckert) Furth, Claire Yuckert, and Linda Thometz.

The family would like to thank Multicare Hospice and the memory care facility, The Cottages at
University Place, for their dedicated care and compassionate staff.
