Dick Lindsay Kofford, 95, formerly of Kāneʻohe, Hawaiʻi, and more recently of Lakewood, Washington peacefully returned to his Heavenly Father on Christmas morning, December 25, 2025, surrounded by love.

Born on May 18, 1930, in Park City, Utah, Dick was the son of Myrel Alonso Kofford and Grace Lindsay. From an early age, he learned the values of faith, service, and devotion to family that guided him throughout his life.

Dick was a lifelong, faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and magnified every calling entrusted to him. Throughout his life, he served as a teacher, High Councilman, Bishop, Stake Dance Director, and in many other capacities, always striving to serve as the Savior would—with humility, diligence, and love.

He had a sincere love for people and a willingness to serve wherever there was a need. His unselfish service blessed the lives of many, often in quiet and unseen ways. He found joy in lifting others, offering encouragement, and strengthening faith through his example.

In his professional life, Dick worked for Nabisco. He became fondly known as "the cookie man." True to his nature, he used his work as another opportunity to build relationships and bring smiles to those he met.

Above all, Dick was devoted to his family. He shared a loving, eternal marriage of 76 years with his beloved wife and eternal companion, Donna Rose Petersen. He was a devoted father to his three daughters and deeply cherished his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, finding joy in each generation and striving to be a steady example of faith, love, and discipleship.

Dick is survived by his eternal companion, Donna Rose; his daughters Sherrie Lynn Almeda, Glenna Elaine Younkin, and Nancy Lee Levenson; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and three nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Glen Allen Kofford, Paul Myrel Kofford, and one niece.

Funeral services will be held on January 13, 2026. Viewing at 10: 00 am followed by the service at 11:00 am at 5420 104th Street SW, Lakewood, WA 98499. Interment will follow at New Tacoma Cemetery at 9212 Chambers Creek Road W, University Place, Washington 98467.

The family expresses heartfelt gratitude for the many prayers, expressions of love, and acts of kindness received. Dick's life stands as a testament of faithful discipleship, devoted service, and enduring love for family and the gospel of Jesus Christ.
