On April 9, Debbie Haskell went home to be with her Savior after a brief and courageous battle with Glioblastoma Multiforme, an aggressive brain tumor. She will be terribly missed by so many, but we are rejoicing that she is perfectly healed now and reunited with her sweet daddy!

Debbie was born in San Bernardino, California on November 12, 1965, the third of four children of Don and Mary Haskell. Being a military family, they all traveled to many different places, creating many fond memories, and they finally settled in the Tacoma area in 1976.

Debbie attended Tacoma Baptist School and then Clover Park High School. She was blessed with her daughter and best friend, Shannah in 1984. Debbie started work as a legal assistant for a law firm, and earned her position as a paralegal. She was a loyal and hard-working employee and a good friend to her employers for over 20 years.

Debbie will always be remembered for her unique taste in clothes and we will miss teasing her about her crazy Converse sneakers, and her Batman, Scooby and skull t-shirts. She loved reading, especially about history, politics, mystery novels and the Merlin trilogy. She said no to chick flicks, flowers and spiders, but loved bad sci-fi movies, coffee, chocolate and her cats, Tango and Cash.

Debbie was loved by her many nieces and nephews, and they will always remember her for her selfless generosity and two-toned brownies. She loved getting coffee and going antique shopping with her sisters, Donna and Beth. She was a member of the Lakewood Elks, where she loved to do karaoke with her family and friends.

Debbie was preceded in death by her father, Don Haskell. She is survived by her daughter, Shannah; her mother, Mary Haskell; her sisters, Donna Schonauer, and Beth Baker; her brother, Dave Haskell; 11 nieces and nephews and 9 great nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on May 21 at 11 AM at Southside Baptist Church, 626 S 86th St Tacoma, WA 98444.
