David Paul
Rehnberg
May 16, 1959 — Oct 20, 2022
Steilacoom
David (Dave) Paul Rehnberg, 63, of Steilacoom, WA, died from advanced prostate cancer on October 20, 2022 at Tacoma General Hospital. He was born on May 16, 1959 in New London Connecticut, the first born son of Alfred and Ann (Mellow) Rehnberg.
Dave graduated from Katella High School in Anaheim, CA, before going on to complete degrees in Christian Education at Biola University (B.S. 1982) and Talbot Theological Seminary (M.A. 1985). Later he completed professional certificates in school administration and an MBA. He served as youth pastor and Christian education pastor at various churches until 1994 when he pivoted to private Christian school teaching and finally Christian school administration from which he retired medically in June 2022.
While pursuing his first master's degree, Dave married Carol Alane Kingsley at the church where they met in Whittier, California. They would have celebrated 38 years of marriage in November. In 2009, they travelled to the Philippines to bring home their son Luis.
Surviving in addition to his wife Carol (Kingsley) Rehnberg and son Luis Rehnberg, are his mother Ann, his brothers William, James and Michael, sister Betty Gerard, eight nieces and six nephews.
Dave and Carol enjoyed RV camping, motorcycle riding and travel, joining friends and family on trips within the U.S. and abroad. He particularly enjoyed cruises.
The family will observe a private burial ceremony at New Tacoma Cemetery. A public memorial service will be held on November 12, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Steilacoom Community Church, Steilacoom, WA.
MEMORIAL SERVICE LIVE STREAM & MEMORIAL FUND
For those who cannot make the trip, the church will be streaming the service on YouTube. On the day of the service, a link will be available on Steilacoom Community's homepage here: https://steilacoom.church/
Also, a memorial fund has been set up for those of you who would like to honor Dave tangibly . Dave's greatest concern and deepest regret in leaving us so soon was leaving Luis without a father just as he is becoming a young man. And of course, education was something Dave valued very highly. For this reason, the memorial fund is a college investment fund for Luis.
