Obituary

David W. Lane, loving husband, father, brother, uncle, and Pa passed away peacefully at home on June 27, 2022. Born on June 30, 1941 in Chicago, Illinois to Virgil and Mary Lane, he was the second of their five children. He joined the Navy in 1959 and served in the Vietnam war as an aircraft mechanical engineer. He married his beloved wife, Charlotte, in 1960. They had four children, David, Tony, Monica, and Gina and lived in California before moving to University Place, Washington in 1977. He utilized what he learned in the Navy and had a successful career as a mechanical engineer to support his family through the years. The greatest joy in his life was watching his family grow, eventually having 8 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. He will be greatly missed.

A public viewing will be held at New Tacoma Funeral Home on Thursday, July 7 th from 3pm-7pm. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church on Friday, July 8 th at 11am, followed by a Celebration of Life at the parish hall at 12pm.
