Darrell DWayne Wilson, 28, of Tacoma, Washington, passed away on Tuesday, April 19, 2022, in Seattle, Washington.

The Viewing and Graveside service will be held at New Tacoma Cemetery, 9221 Chambers Creek Road West, University Place, WA 98467.

The Viewing will be held on May 26, 2022, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and on May 27, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

The Graveside Service will be held on May 27, 2022, at 1:00 .pm.

Darrell was born in Tacoma, Washington to Darrell and Brenda Wilson on March 18, 1994. He attended Franklin Pierce High School and graduated in 2012. From there he went on to attend Pierce College and graduated in 2015 with his Associates Degree. Wanting to further his education, he graduated in 2020 from the University of Washington Tacoma Campus, with a degree in Urban Studies and an emphasis in Geographic Information Systems ("GIS"). While pursuing his degree he was working full time and participated in internships and research projects at the City of Puyallup, City of Olympia, and University of Puget Sound. He graduated with no student loans and received state wide recognition by Governor Jay Inslee for his accomplishments.

Darrell was hired immediately after graduation by the Tacoma Pierce County Health Department where he worked in GIS on Covid related projects. He was then recruited by the City of Seattle for the Mayor's office to work on urban development projects.

Darrell was an avid lover of fitness and was passionate about nutrition. He taught his mom, granny, and Brea self-defense and coached other family members and friends on fitness. He was an inspiration to many, helping others to lose weight and take a conscious approach to health and nutrition.

In continuation of his legacy and as a testament to the life he lived, we are in the process of establishing the Darrell D. Wilson Foundation, which will focus on education, career, and fitness, among other things.

Darrell is survived by his loving mother and father, Brenda and Darrell Wilson; his sister, Brea Wilson; his Granny Mary Baxter; and his Godmother, Loretta Carroll-Street.

He is also survived by extended family and friends and by His Day Ones: Reg, Juan, Joe, Sam, and Cousin Mamoun.
