In Loving Memory of Dale O. Turnipseed

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Dale O. Turnipseed, a beloved husband and father, USAF, TSGT, Retired, and a member of the Steilacoom community, who departed this life on 24 January at the age of 91.

Early Life
Dale was born on the 28th of May in San Saba, TX to Felix and Vera Turnipseed (Deceased). Growing up in a loving and supportive family, he exhibited an early passion for working hard in agricultural fields, cashiering, and hunting for food, a trait that would remain a significant part of his life. Dale attended various classes during service in the Army and Air Force, where he excelled both academically and socially, forming lifelong friendships and acquiring a thirst for knowledge.

Career and Achievements
Dale's professional journey was marked by dedication, talent, and an unwavering commitment to the Army and Air Force and as a civilian in the Navy. He made a remarkable impact on all of his commitments, where he worked for fifty-plus years. He was known for his qualities such as hard work, compassion, and skills, earning the respect and admiration of colleagues and clients alike. His most notable achievements include being Airman of the Quarter at Mountain Home AFB, ID.

Personal Life and Passions
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Dale was a devoted husband to Nancy (predeceased) and a loving father to son, William and daughter, Elizabeth (Lee). Dale adored his siblings and would often go back to Family Reunions in TX. Dale is predeceased by sister, Dean (Jay), and by his brother, Patrick (Elaine). Dale is survived by sisters Maxine, Ruth (Jim-deceased), Sue (Ralph-deceased), Wanda, and brother Norman. Dale had many nephews and nieces and enjoyed meeting all their children as well at the family reunions. Dale had a passion for playing pinochle, fishing, reading, and watching history, Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy, Let's Make A Deal and The Price is Right on TV.

Legacy and Remembrance
Dale's life was a testament to the values of kindness, perseverance, and love. He touched the lives of many and will be remembered for his generosity, sense of humor, and warmth. His legacy will continue to inspire all who knew him, and he will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

Funeral Arrangements
A funeral service to honor and celebrate Dale's life will be held on 13 February 2025 at 1 p.m. at The New Tacoma Cemetery. Instead of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to any Cancer or Heart Foundation, a cause close to his heart.

Final Tribute
As we say our final goodbyes, we hold onto the memories and the profound impact Dale had on our lives. He will forever remain in our hearts, a shining example of a well-lived life. Rest in peace, Dale. Your love and legacy will endure through the lives you touched.
