Cliff passed away at home after a cancer illness. He was born in Bremerton, WA and lived his entire life in the Seattle/Tacoma area. He was a devout Catholic, attending local Catholic schools, Holy Rosary, St. Leo's, and Bellarmine.

His passion for golf started at age 12, when he began caddying at Fircrest Golf Club. He worked full and part time, at Fircrest, on ground maintenance and in the pro shop after school and during vacations. Graduating from Bellarmine High School, saw him win State and city honors in track, and be State Sprint Champion in his senior year. During his school years, he joined the Marine Reserves, and received an Honorable Discharge in 1962. After graduation from Seattle University, he worked at Boeing, but went back to golf to help build a Par 3 Course. Cliff acted as Pro-Groundskeeper until 1965, when he became golf assistant at Fircrest Golf Club under Pro, John Rudy.

In April of 1967, he became the head professional at Linden Golf and Country Club in Puyallup, WA. After working many years of long days and hours, he decided golf was his passion, but not his priority. That was his children and family. He turned his golf spikes in and spent many years camping, hiking, fishing, and enjoying his family. He did other jobs during this time but finally ended up working in the Pierce County Assessor's Office until he retired in 1999.

He remarried in 1986, his children grew up, got married, and he welcomed grandchildren, and a great grandson. Life was good. In 1994, for retirement, membership to his favorite place, Fircrest Golf Club was a must. Retirement also meant spending time with friends and family, camping, hiking, travel, RVing, learning to carve cotton wood bark houses (for which he won awards), and of course GOLF.

Cliff is survived by his wife Jeri; children Jeff (Gretchen), Tim (Debbie), and Cindy (Jack); grandchildren Jeffrey, Mikayla, Jake, Harrison, and McKinley; great grandson Archie; and sisters Shirleen and Florence.

Cliff was an honorable, kind, gentle man who was so loved and will be so very missed.

A funeral mass will be held at St. Charles Borromeo Parish Church at 11:00 am on Monday, May 1, 2023.
