Chung Sook Kim, 82, passed away early morning of June 18th, 2023 at Tacoma General Hospital.

Chung Sook was born on April 5th, 1941 in South Korea.  She aspired to serve others by becoming a nurse but fate had other plans for her.  On January 2, 1966, she married Charlie Sang Kim and had 2 children, daughter, Jessica H. Kim, and son, Marc H. Kim.  On April 12, 1975, the family immigrated to the United States and settled in Baltimore, Maryland.  After 30 years in Baltimore, Chung Sook and Charlie moved to Lakewood, Washington in 2005 to live with daughter, Jessica H. Kim, who at the time was a US Army Major in the Medical Corps at Fort Lewis, Washington.

Chung Sook loved her walks at Chambers Bay, line dancing, and tending to her garden.  She enjoyed reading and keeping up with news and politics.  Chung Sook will be remembered for her love and dedication to her family as well as her beautiful smile and joy that she selflessly shared with everyone that she came across.

Chung Sook is survived by her husband, Charlie, daughter, Jessica, and son and his wife, Marc and Candace.

Celebration of Life was held at New Tacoma Cemeteries and Funeral Home on June 24, 2023 at 10:00am.
