Obituary

Christine Lueke

(Born October 25, 1937; died February 1, 2025)

Christine, beloved wife of Wilhelm D. Lueke for 32 years, passed away peacefully on February 1, 2025, at the age of 87. Born in Grimsby, England in 1937, she was the daughter of Dennis Thompson and Mabel Roffee. Growing up in Grimsby during World War II and the post-war period, she developed a love of netball and gardening and often shared fond memories of her childhood in England.

Christine worked in an insurance and tax office in Grimsby before moving to London, where she continued similar work. It was there she met United States Airman Wilhelm Lueke. They married and moved to the United States, settling at Ft. Dix, New Jersey, where they welcomed their only child, Diana Christine Lueke.

Christine was witty, loved to sleep, and was always thoughtful of her appearance. Compassionate and generous, she would give you the shirt off her back. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

Christine was preceded in death by her husband, Wilhelm D. Lueke; her brothers, Ray and Brian Thompson; and her daughter, Diana Christine Buie.

She is survived by her grandchildren, Ryan D. Buie and Taylor M. Buie; her son-in-law, Patrick T. Buie; many cousins; and lifelong friends Gloria Hedges, Joanne Shaver, and Margaret Buie.

A graveside service will be held at New Tacoma Cemetery on February 27th at 1:00 PM.

Flowers may be sent to New Tacoma Cemetery, 9212 Chambers Creek Rd, University Place, Washington 98467.
