Charles Pahulu of University Place, WA passed away on March 21, 2023. He was a remarkable man who left a lasting impression on all who knew him. A devoted family man, his kind and loving spirit touched the lives of many. Charles was born in Suva, Fiji, on September 5, 1958, where he grew up with his large family. As the middle child of seven, his siblings lovingly referred to him as "Fijian Boy," a nickname that would stick with him throughout his life.

After the sudden passing of Charles' father, Tevita Pahulu, Matila Pahulu, immigrated to America with her five youngest children. Shortly thereafter, Charles met Emeline Tupou, who would become his wife of over 40 years. Charles enlisted in the US Army and served as a Calvary Scout, living the American dream with his beloved wife and children.

During his 20 year career in the Army, Charles was stationed all over the world and earned his Associate's degree. He was a formidable soldier who retired as a Sgt. First Class.

Charles Pahulu was not only a devoted family man but also a kind and caring member of his community. He was always willing to assist those in need, especially children. Charles will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his spirit will live on through the memories he leaves behind. He is survived by his loving wife, his seven children Aulola, Derrick, Marlon, Viliami, Matilda, Siale (deceased), Celina, and David as well as his eight grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held on April 7th ( 7 pm- 10 pm ) and April 8th ( 12 pm - 1 pm ) at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Tacoma WA Stake Center, 1102 S Pearl Street, Tacoma, WA. Charles will be laid to rest at the New Tacoma Cemetery and Funeral in University Place, WA. His family invites all those who knew and loved him to attend and celebrate his life.
