Celia Dressel passed away peacefully at age 87.

Celia was born in Legazpi City, Philippines, to parents Bonifacio and Lutgarda Quijano. After graduating from Centro Escolar University in Manila, she moved to the United States to become a registered dietitian. Celia worked in the nutrition field at Tacoma General Hospital, Cottesmore, Red Cross, and St. Clare's Hospital. She also moonlighted as a real estate agent in her earlier years.

Celia loved many things, including sampling new foods, shopping for bargain items, and caring for her dog, Pepper. She lived her Catholic faith, praying ceaselessly and promoting local Catholic education. But what she cherished the most was her beloved family.

Celia is survived by her four children: Dennis, Jeanne (Jim Hanigan), Lynn (Keith Ross), and Dan; her grandchildren: Serena and Bella Dressel, Joshua and Jacob Hanigan, and Taylor Ross (Vanessa), and great granddaughter, Scarlett.

She is preceded in death by her husband Irvin (married 57 years) and her brother Augusto Quijano.

A funeral mass will take place at St. Charles Borromeo Parish at 7112 S. 12th Street Tacoma, WA 98465 on Friday, Sept. 19 at 4 p.m. The vigil, viewing, and rosary will commence at 3 p.m.
