Catherine L. Call

August 17, 1931 – June 5, 2026

Catherine Lydia "Kay" Call, of Tacoma, WA, passed away on June 5, 2026 at the age of 94. She was born on August 17, 1931 in Glendive, MT, and grew up in Circle, MT. She earned a BA degree and Teaching Certificate from Western Washington University. At first, she taught in a one-room schoolhouse in eastern Montana; after moving to Washington State, she taught elementary school for several years in the Tacoma Public School system, and later taught Adult Basic Education at Tacoma Community College. She enjoyed various church and social activities, especially touring North America with her husband Jim on their GoldWing motorcycle. Her passions and pastimes included reading, gardening, traveling, playing the piano and singing, and going to church: her Christian faith was an essential part of her life. She is survived by James A. Call, spouse; Jere A. Call, son; Christie L. Call, daughter; Maude (Rollin) Loewenstein, sister; a grandson, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by Roy LaRowe, father; Anna E. LaRowe, mother; Elizabeth A. Holm (William), sister; Mark (Mary) LaRowe, brother; and Genevieve (Walter) Johnson, sister. Private graveside services will be held at New Tacoma Cemetery.

I will be waiting in God's Garden for my family, do not grieve for me, my life did not end, it just changed form and I'm still with all of you in spirit.
